STMAA Position - President

|The President shall preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors; shall be an ex-officio member of all committees, they may call special meetings of the Board of Directors, as herein provided, they shall perform all such duties as are incidental of the office and are properly required of the office.

The Real Job

It comes as no surprise that the president is a very key job in the organization. Since the STMAA is a non-profit volunteer organization, the duties are purposefully spread as thin and wide as possible to assure that no single person gets loaded with too much, but it falls on the president to do that spreading; to allocate duties out in a way that people can share the burden.

The president must know and understand the bylaws because in a typical volunteer organization, few people will take the time to do this. While all board members should do this, in practice it may fall on the president to keep everything in line with the bylaws.

(The purpose of this section is to give a realistic picture of what the job typically entail in the organization as it runs today... This section not complete yet.)
